Monthly Pot Luck Socials: January 17, February 21, March 21, April 18

On the 3rd Sunday of each month we have a vegetarian potluck lunch immediately following the 11:00 a.m. service.  Everyone is welcome, and there is always plenty of food!  If you can, please bring a vegetarian dish to share (entrée, side dish, or dessert) and plan to stay after the Sunday service for this informal time of fellowship.

Commemorative Services

These Self-Realization Fellowship Services are held to commemorate the birthdays and mahasamadhis of our great Gurus.  All are welcome to attend who are well enough acquainted with the SRF teachings to understand the Guru-disciple relationship and to participate in the ceremony with sincerity and reverence.  Please bring a flower to be offered as a symbol of your devotion to God and Gurus and a donation in an envelope as a symbol of your loyalty and faithfulness to the work of SRF.

Please note:  Since your flower donation is a gift to God, it is customary to refrain from smelling the flower, thus “taking” for yourself a part of the gift meant for God.  It is also customary, whenever possible, not to place flowers and donations on the floor during the service.

News for 2010

A Gift from Divine Mother

An Anonymous Donor has given us new meditation chairs for the chapel. We were notified of this intention several months ago and set up a committee to select the best seats for our use. The Chair Committee selected the same sanctuary seating that is in use at the Front Royal retreat in Virginia . The new chairs will be arriving sometime this winter.

Since we are all different sizes and shapes, some people will still need to bring pillows to accommodate long legs or back support. But we feel these chairs will be a welcome relief to most individuals.

Words cannot describe the deep gratitude we feel. However this kind, humble donor says it best:  “Divine Mother truly is the provider of all, so all gratitude is due to Her.”
